Downey, CA – Three Trapped, Injured in Collision at Florence Ave and Lakewood Blvd
Downey, CA (July 01, 2022) – At about 2:25 a.m., Downey Police Officers and the Downey Fire Department both responded to a three-vehicle crash with three people trapped at the intersection of Lakewood Boulevard and Florence Avenue.
Fire crews and police officers reported to the scene to find that one vehicle had two people trapped inside and another vehicle had one victim trapped.
The victims were reported to be responsive with non-life-threatening injuries.
Rescuers used the Jaws of Life to extricate the three patients who were then taken by paramedics to area hospitals in unknown conditions.
The intersection was shut down for a period of time while police investigated.
